The Nursery and its facilities aim to stimulate and aid your child's development in all areas of learning. All of the children in our care are given a safe, secure, warm and caring environment, where they can grow, flourish, learn and develop through play.
Every child's individual needs are paramount.
Our Baby Room caters for children aged 0-2 years and is situated on the ground floor of the building. This gives immediate access to the outdoor area and babies are encouraged to activitly use this to aid all aspects of their development. Our Toddler and Pre School areas are located on the first floor of the building. They cater for children aged 2-4 years old and are comprised of a messy/craft room and a quieter room for role play/ construction / ICT and story corner.
0-3 year olds are encouarged to stimulate all aspects of their development through a wide range of acitvities and opportunities. Practitioners plan with individual child's needs in mind and using a range of observations, learning stories and photos to make assessments. Parents are activitley encouraged to contribute through home stories and we work hard to support parents with all aspects of child development.Practitioners work in line with EYFS statutory requirements and using the 0-5 development framework.
3-5 year olds are encouraged to progress towards the early learning goals which are split into 6 main areas of learning. These are Communication, Language and Literacy, Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy, Knowledge and understanding of the World, Physical Development, Creative Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.Childcare practitioners plan and provide activities for the children based on the child's individual needs from observations of the children and discussions with parents.Children have supported access to outdoors and activities are also planned making good use of our play area and amenities on offer in the village. The transition to school is given priority in the summer time and links with local schools are strong. We encourage teachers to come and meet children at nursery and share all assessments of the children with them.
